The poetess has made three extraordinary resolutions in this poem.Her first resolution is to keep quiet and atone for her previous sins.She wants to remain silent to avoid sins of falsehood,hypocrisy and self praise.
            Her second resolution is to look into her inner weaknesses.She will take herself by the collar and hold herself answerable for her misdeeds. Her third resolution is to face reality eye to eye.She will accept reality with all its bitterness.She knows that truth is bitter but she will derive comfort from the fact that she is living in the world of truth. She compares truth to bony arms as both are unpleasant and ugly.
